As a rector of the University of Medicine 2, Yangon, I am privileged to write a foreword for the website of the university which is to be launched very shortly. Actually, there has been a website for the university previously, which unfortunately was terminated for various reasons a few years ago. The administrative board and academic board of the university feel that it is imperative to have university website whereby easy access by the interested persons locally and abroad is made possible to learn about the university. In this era of Information Technology it is a common practice to have websites for organizations and Institutions so that it facilitates the communication as well as advocacy on their vision, mission and their activities.

Having realized these of advantages of webcasting, the website committee has been formed which has been working very hard to write a website for the university over the last year and the fruit of their arduous effort is now the current website. Credit should go to this website committee of the university! Nevertheless, there can still be room for improvement and the Committee has to work diligently to revise and review periodically. As a responsible person for the university I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those persons involved in the development of this website for the university.
